“Going to camp last year helped my daughter improve on her reading skills. This year, she is able to read at her grade level. It was all thanks to the camp she attended last year, because they had a set reading time.”
Community Foundation of Jackson Hole’s Extracurricular Opportunity Scholarship Program
The Extracurricular Opportunity Scholarship is an extension of One22’s Teton County Unified Summer Scholarship Program, which has been supported by the Community Foundation and private donors. The Foundation has entrusted One22 to expand the scope of this successful scholarship program to include extracurricular sports, arts and cultural activities during the school year.
The partnership involves a vast array of participating programs for youngsters K-8 grade which match scholarships or discount the registration costs for scholarship students. Current participating programs include Jackson Youth Hockey, Jackson Hole Ski and Snowboard Club, Teton County Parks and Recreation, Jackson Hole Youth Soccer, Jackson Hole Lacrosse Club, Slow Food in the Tetons, the Art Association of Jackson Hole, the Presbyterian Church of Jackson Hole’s Music Academy and Jackson Hole Wrestling.
With a broad understanding of the needs of families and a commitment to full and diverse participation, limited scholarships also exist for travel and equipment costs.
The scholarship program is available year round, and income verification is only required once per year.
To apply for a scholarship please check the program parameters and bring in the required forms (listed in the Application- see Application Forms) to One22's main office, or call 307-739-4500 to make an appointment with one of our client advocates.
Summer Camp Scholarship Program
The Teton County Unified Summer Scholarship Fund, a restricted fund managed and administered by One22 in coordination with Teton County Library and Systems of Education, provides funding for local children at risk for significant summer learning loss to have the opportunity to participate in summer enrichment programs. Since 2010, the program has given our most vulnerable students a chance to participate in programs and activities that can help them enter the school year as engaged and prepared students.
In 2018 One22 was able to send 100 local children to four weeks of summer camp at Teton County Parks and Recreation’s Camp Jackson, Art Association of Jackson Hole, Teton Science School, Presbyterian Church of Jackson Hole’s Camp JOY, Wilderness Adventures, Dancers Workshop, Slow Food in the Tetons, Jackson Hole Children’s Museum, and All Girls Math Camp.
To apply for a scholarship please bring in a completed form (see Application Forms) to One22's main office, or call 307-739-4500 to make an appointment with one of our client advocates.
